Can I Just Show Up to Get Baptized on Saturday?
By Evee B

Can I just show up to get baptized on Saturday?
Yes. On Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Myron Lake, you can walk up, tell us you're ready, and be baptized that day. No form, no class, no membership, no cost.
This is the question we get more than any other in the week before a citywide baptism, and the answer really is that simple.
What "just show up" actually looks like
1. Come to Myron Lake. Find the Simply Jesus Prayer Kitchen group near the water. 2. Tell someone you want to be baptized. No sign-up sheet — just say the words. 3. Have a short, friendly conversation. Not an interview. We want to make sure you're ready, comfortable, and understand what's happening. 4. Change into what you'll be baptized in (t-shirt and shorts, or swimsuit under clothes). 5. Walk into the water with whoever will baptize you. They'll be right beside you. 6. Share a sentence or two of faith in your own words — that Jesus died and rose again, and you're choosing to follow Him. 7. Get lowered under and lifted back up. Less than a minute. 8. Dry off, celebrate, go home new.
Is there a reason to email ahead?
Only if it helps you feel calmer. A heads-up lets us know to look for you and have someone ready. But walk-ups are welcome and expected — most people come without emailing first. If you want to reach out: simplyjesusprayerkitchen@gmail.com.
Do I need to know what to say?
No. One or two sentences in your own words is enough. If you get nervous and forget, whoever is baptizing you will help you through it. This is not a test.
What if I've never been to a church?
You're still welcome. Baptism in the Bible follows faith in Jesus, not attendance. If you believe He died and rose again and you want to follow Him, you're ready. Read more here →
What if I change my mind at the water?
That's okay. Nobody will push you. You can watch, take a breath, and decide again next time. But most people who feel nervous at the edge feel completely different once they come up out of the water.
Just come. That's the whole plan.
