Where Is Myron Lake? Directions, Parking, and What to Bring for Baptism
By Evee B

Where is Myron Lake?
Myron Lake sits along the Yakima Greenway, on the north edge of Yakima, just off the Yakima River. It's one of the calmer, quieter spots on the Greenway — a small lake ringed by walking paths, cottonwoods, and open grass. That's why we chose it for "I Left It in the River" on July 25, 2026.
Getting there
Search "Myron Lake, Yakima Greenway" in Google Maps or Apple Maps and it will route you in. Access is off the Yakima Greenway pathway system near downtown Yakima. If you're using a rideshare, drop the pin on the lake itself, not the general "Greenway" — the pathway is long.
Parking
Greenway parking lots along the north side of Yakima are your best bet. Look for the lots closest to Myron Lake and plan to walk a few minutes along the path. Arrive 15–20 minutes early — parking fills up fast for citywide events.
What to bring
- A full change of dry clothes (top, bottom, undergarments, dry shoes or sandals)
- A towel — a beach towel is ideal
- Clothes to be baptized in: a t-shirt and shorts, or a swimsuit under clothes. Avoid white shirts and heavy denim.
- Water and sunscreen — it's July in Yakima
- A plastic bag for wet clothes on the way home
What you don't need
- Membership, a class, or a form
- A "testimony script" — one or two sentences in your own words is enough
- Money — the event is free
Accessibility
The pathway is paved and mostly flat, but the water's edge is natural shoreline. If you or someone coming with you needs mobility help getting to the water, email us ahead of time at simplyjesusprayerkitchen@gmail.com and we'll make sure someone is there to help.
After
Bring dry clothes and stay a while if you want. There's no required program after — just time to celebrate with the people who came with you.
